Research advice

Whether you need someone to think along, monitor the research process or actively participate in the research project, we take a thorough approach to the research which results in a accurate final report. By taking on our help, you can count on quick reactions (we aim to respond within two working days) and lots of research experience.

Statistics (SPSS, MPlus)

Performing statistical analyses*. Generating relevant customized graphs and tables that can be used to report the results.

If you are a student, we can conduct the analyses jointly, preferably online via Zoom/Teams. The important thing then is not only to choose and perform the right analyses*, but also to check the corresponding assumptions and show to the reviewers that you can defend your choices substantively.

If desired, after our meeting, I can put together a powerpoint (not a fancy presentation but tables and graphs from the spss output with advice on interpretation and reporting), detailing all the actions that were performed during the meeting. You can then review the powerpoint at your leisure and use them when writing the results chapter.

* I have extensive experience with most of the statistical analyses that can be performed in SPSS and MPlus, such as multiple regression, AN(C)OVA, logistic regression, repeated measures, conjoint analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, sem, and mixed models (HLM). Nevertheless, it may happen that, based on the research topic or the statistical analysis chosen, I have to conclude that I cannot contribute sufficiently to your research. In that case, I am happy to refer you to my expert colleagues at TopScriptie.

You can make use of our statistics consultation hours. This service is currently free of charge. If you want to make use of it, please visit the Booking page and register for a 15-minute appointment during one of the hours allocated for this purpose (between 08:00 and 09:00 and between 19:00 and 20:00 on weekdays and between 09:00 and 10:00 on Saturdays).

*This service is for help with common statistical analyses, such as multiple regression, AN(C)OVA, logistic regression. For more complex statistical analyses, such as multilevel analysis (HLM), conjoint analysis and generalized linear models, an understanding of the structure and content of the dataset is often desired and you should expect a longer call for which you can make an appointment.

**Although I have extensive experience with most of the statistical analyses that can be performed in SPSS, it is possible that I do not have an immediate answer to your question. In that case, I am happy to offer to look into your problem further after the interview and I will get back to you by email.

Thesis counseling

The research design contains the fundaments of the research projects. When the research questions, hypotheses and research approach are clearly defined in the research design, conducting the research itself becomes less strenuous.

Therefore, even at this stage, Data-Affinity can think along when it comes to the formulation of the research questions and the approach to the research. We can review the research design that has been drawn up and offer any additions or suggestions for improvement.

Reviewing thesis

De scriptie is geschreven, de statistische analyses zijn uitgevoerd en de resultaten beschreven. Toch zou je het fijn vinden wanneer iemand nog even kijkt of de informatie duidelijk en volledig is weergegeven. Data-Affinity kan binnen enkele dagen een of alle hoofdstukken voor je doorwerken.
